Message from the Executive Director

Period Pride Kenya is built on a simple, powerful belief: that no girl should ever be held back because of her period. At Period Pride Kenya, we are on a mission to break the silence and stigma surrounding menstruation by promoting menstrual health education, fighting period poverty, and empowering schoolgirls across Kenya. We provide access to reusable sanitary pads, deliver reproductive health workshops, and advocate against early pregnancies and child marriages — all with the aim of keeping girls safe, confident, and in school. This journey began with the painful realities I witnessed in my community — where girls were missing school, dropping out, or facing shame, harassment, and even sexual violence simply because of a natural biological process. It became clear to me that menstruation, when unsupported, doesn't just affect health; it becomes a roadblock to education, equality, and basic dignity. That's why we're not just working for period pride — we're working for gender equality. Because when girls are denied access to menstrual products or education, they're being denied a fair chance at life. Menstrual equity is gender equity. Every pad we distribute, every workshop we conduct, and every voice we uplift is a step toward a world where girls have equal power, equal opportunity, and equal rights. At Period Pride Kenya, we see sanitary pads not just as a basic need, but as tools of empowerment. Our work goes beyond distribution — we're creating safe spaces for girls to learn about their reproductive health and rights, by having safe, and open conversations. We're helping girls build confidence, protect themselves, and dream beyond societal limitations. I believe that when we invest in girls, we invest in a more just, equal, and empowered future for all. Together, we are shaping a world where every girl can learn, lead, and live with dignity — period.

When girls rise, we all rise.
